WPL 2025: An Overview
The WPL auction dates were announced by the Board of Cricket Council India (BCCI). They confirmed Bengaluru as the event’s host city. In contrast, the Indian Premier League’s auction recently held offshores, while the WPL 2025 auction remains on domestic lands.
- There is a possibility that up to 19 spots -14 Indian and 5 foreign players, will be filled during the auction with the entire INR 16.7 crore in available monies.
- A roster of 18 players and a maximum budget of INR 15 crore are allowed for each team. Each squad will consist of no more than six foreigners.
This time the base price for players is kept as follows –
- Capped Players: ₹ 30 Lakhs, ₹40 Lakhs and ₹50 Lakhs
- Uncapped Players: ₹10 Lakhs and ₹20 Lakhs
